How to Get Involved

Football Replay is about simply playing five-a-side football and having fun.

It’s an opportunity for men over the age of 35 to turn up every week and take part in the right spirit with like-minded people of a similar standard of fitness who want to enjoy the game.

Football Replay takes place at some 40 centres across the UK, usually starting at 5.30pm every Sunday, and running for around an hour. Check your nearest location for details as there are some local variations.

The programme operates in partnership with Powerleague, Playfootball, Goals Soccer Centres and Pitch Invasion at high-quality facilities, and on the latest 3G pitches.

The plan for most centres is to organise a ‘round robin’ style event, usually involving three matches of 15 minutes each, with a ‘breather’ in between.

Nigel Hargreaves, founder of Football Replay, said: “It will be more of an informal kick-about than a match and players will be required to sign a code of conduct that outlines the fun and social culture of the programme, and binds them to appropriate behaviour.”

The programme is affiliated to The FA with a referee overseeing the sessions. Any instances of serious misconduct will be reported to The FA with the player involved then subject to The FA’s disciplinary procedures.

Check the Locations page for your nearest centre, then you can turn up on the day and be fitted into a team, call in advance to book a place for you and maybe a friend or two, or even enter your own team. Many of the centres have already signed up company and pub teams.

It’s as simple as that. Everyone is welcome – regardless of levels of fitness and ability – and the format and games will be organised by staff in the centres to create fun five-a-side football for over-35’s.
